HABITAT PERSONNEL WINS PRESTIGOUS AWARD
ACT 2012 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
Last night 29th November at the prestigious 2012 Multicultural; Awards Gala Dinner held at the Hellenic Club, Canberra more than 400 people attended and witnessed Habitat Personnel award of Business of the Year 2012.
Minister of Multicultural Affairs Mrs Joy Burch MLA, has recognised and rewarded collectively the multicultural champions in the Canberra region at the 2012 Australian Capital Territory Multicultural Awards, which acknowledge those individuals, organisations, educational providers, government, businesses and the media who help make tremendous contributions the ACT community through their work across the spectrum of Multicultural activities – in arts, sports, schools, health, information provision, law, human rights, the environment and more.
Seven award winners were recognised for the following award categories :
• Business of the Year Award
• ACT Multicultural Advocate of the Year Award
• Community Organisation of the Year Award
• Education Award
• Media Award
• Public Sector Award
• Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award
Since 1996, Habitat Personnel has been operating as a not-for-profit assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People take control of their own economic and social development whilst also providing education and employment opportunities.
Habitat Personnel takes pride in being able to provide a unique service to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the ACT providing a safe, culturally friendly and appropriate environment for all to share.
